Endurance Running and Nutrition
Bill Brumbach has a background in distance running and power lifting. That combination makes him a talented athlete in the sport of obstacle course racing. What he lacks in natural talent, he makes up for in his work ethic and drive to succeed.
In his first season as an elite obstacle course racer, Brumbach compiled a few top 15 placements and has his sights set on some podium finishes during the 2015 racing season. His training consists of high intensity interval training (HIIT), CrossFit, trail running, speed work, functional fitness, and weighted hiking.
Brumbach first started running obstacle course races, because they presented a new challenge to him; testing his total body fitness over an extended period of time, as opposed to segregating endurance and strength. Obstacle course races also allows him the chance to once again compete against other elite athletes and spend time outdoors. With his “won’t quit” attitude and the desire to make a name for himself in the sport, Brumbach is poised to do big things in 2015.
